Bite-Sized Cocoa Indulgence
Posted by Makana Confections on 6th May 2026
Sometimes it’s not about changing the recipe—it’s about changing the moment. These bite-sized versions turn a familiar favourite into something a little more playful, perfect for sharing (or keeping all to yourself). Small in size, but just as rich and satisfying, they’re proof that good chocolate doesn’t need a big occasion.
Cocoa Brownies
55 grams Makana's Cocoa Rouge Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
75 grams all-purpose flour
170 grams butter
300 grams sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
4 size 6 eggs
1 cup chopped nuts of choice
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a mini muffin tray with baking cups or lightly coat with baking spray.
Sift the cocoa powder and flour into a medium bowl. Whisk together until well combined, then set aside.
Melt the butter using a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second intervals. Stir in the sugar, salt, and vanilla using a spatula until combined. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until the mixture is smooth and glossy. Fold in the dry ingredients until no lumps remain. Stir through the chopped nuts. Using a small ice cream scoop or spoon, divide the mixture evenly between the prepared muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
Allow to cool in the tray for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely (or enjoy slightly warm ?).
These mini chocolate bites are wonderfully versatile—serve them warm with a drizzle of salted caramel sauce or a silky dark chocolate ganache for an extra layer of indulgence. For something lighter, a spoonful of softly whipped cream or a dusting of icing sugar works beautifully too.
Perfect for everything from afternoon gatherings and after-dinner treats to gift boxes and celebrations, their bite-sized nature makes them easy to share—though they’re just as satisfying kept all to yourself.
