Join our established and friendly team at Makana’s Boutique Chocolate Factory in Blenheim, Marlborough.

Makana Confections offers a unique, high-end retail experience where all of our handcrafted chocolates and confections are made on-site. We are open 7 days a week, 9:00am – 5:30pm, serving both in-store customers and online orders.

We offer excellent pay rates based on experience, along with great working conditions including fully subsidised health insurance.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position working 5 days per week (approximately 8.5 hours per day), including one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday).

As a Senior Retailer, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience, supporting day-to-day store operations, and setting the standard for the wider team.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in retail, sales, or a similar customer-facing role
• A strong customer service mindset with a passion for creating memorable experiences
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• High standards of personal presentation
• Confidence working within a small team environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience with online order processing
• Solid Microsoft 365 skills (especially Word and Excel)
• A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to lead by example

Additional Requirements

• You must be living in New Zealand and legally entitled to work permanently
• You must be based in Blenheim or willing to relocate
• Please note: leave is limited during peak seasonal periods due to the nature of our business
