We came through your Kerikeri store during our recent trip to the Bay of Islands and I just wanted to take the time to say that the Macadamia Butter Toffee Crunch we took home was honestly one of the biggest highlights of our trip. We came in, were greeted by a very friendly staff member who offered us a sample, and while we didn't have much money left at the end of our trip, we simply could not resist buying ourselves a box to take home. I only wish we could have afforded to buy some of the other treats that I have no doubt are delicious also. I am so not a liker of chocolate or macadamia nuts but the toffee chocolate coated macadamia had even me hooked. The shop is well worth the visit and the product delicious and very very moreish. Although on the expensive side it is well worth the price. I'm addicted and so glad that they have a website which you can order from. I sense a regular customer has just been made. Even though we live in Kerikeri, we ALWAYS enjoy a visit to Makana Chocolate factory. If you visit the Bay of Islands, you really should pay this place a visit. As you walk inside you are greeted with the lovely smell of chocolate. You can watch all the chocolates being made - behind glass - and there is always a free tasting. Truly delicious experience! This is the factory where they making hand packed chocolate. Different kinds of chocolate that you can taste before you´ll buy them. They aren´t the cheapest, but definately worthy to buy even for you or your friends. It´s pefect gift and they offer the service of delivery anywhere to anyone. Two years ago, I was driving along Kerikeri road when I went pass the Makana Confections building that caught my eye. I doubled back and boy was I glad I did so! The Macadamia Butter Toffee Crunch left such a lasting impression that I am going to get more of them when I head down to New Zealand this October.
