Makana's Ultimate Chewy Chocolate Cookies

There’s something universally comforting about a batch of warm, chocolatey cookies—especially when they’re delightfully soft and chewy. This recipe brings together everything we love about a classic chocolate cookie, with a texture that’s rich, fudgy, and impossible to resist.
Chewy Chocolate Cookies
300g all-purpose flour
50g Makana's Unsweetened Cocoa Rouge
¾ tsp baking powder
¾ tsp salt
225g salted butter at room temperature
200g brown sugar
100g granulated sugar
1 large egg
1tsp vanilla bean paste or extract
340g Makana’s Bittersweet Chocolate Baking Chips
Preheat oven to 180C. Line baking trays with baking paper.
Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl; set aside. In medium mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy; add egg and vanilla and mix until combined. Add flour mixture and beat until just combined, scraping down sides of bowl as needed. Fold in the baking chips.
Using an ice cream scoop or your hands, scoop 2 tbsps worth of mixture at a time. Roll in a ball and place on the baking tray, leaving room to spread (about 8 cookies per bakign tray).
Bake for 11-12mn or until edges become firm. Let cool on cookie sheet for several minutes before transferring to wire rack.
Store in airtight container in the unlikely event of leftovers.
